Eugène_Balme

Eugène Jean François Balme (22 November 1874 – 24 February 1914) was a French sport shooter who competed at the 1900 Summer Olympics and 1908 Summer Olympics.In 1900 at Paris he won the bronze medal in the 25 metre rapid fire pistol event. Eight years later at London he won another bronze medal in the team free rifle event and was fourth in team military rifle event.He was born in Oullins and died in Paris. He committed suicide by shooting himself.

Pierre_Bertran_de_Balanda

Pierre Louis Marie Bertran de Balanda (28 September 1887 – 28 March 1946) was a French horse rider who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics.
He was born in Toulouse and died in Marseille.
In 1928, he and his horse Papillon won the silver medal in the individual jumping competition. They also finished fourth as part of the French jumping team in the team jumping competition.

2017_Sichuan_landslide

A landslide occurred at about 05:38 local time on 24 June 2017 in Diexi Town, Mao County, Sichuan Province in south-western China. It destroyed 40 homes in Xinmo Village and killed 10 people, with a further 73 people missing, as of 27 June. A second smaller landslide at around 17:19 impeded rescue efforts.

Johannes "Jan" Baptist Norbertus Pijnenburg (15 February 1906 – 2 December 1979) was a Dutch track cyclist who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics. He won the silver medal as part of the Dutch pursuit team. After the Olympics he turned professional and won six-day races in Dortmund (1931, 1932), Berlin (1931), Amsterdam (1932, 1933), Brussels (1932–1934), Paris (1932, 1934), Chicago (1932), Frankfurt (1933), Stuttgart (1933), Antwerp (1934, 1937), Rotterdam (1936) and Copenhagen (1936).Honored by several people, retired in September 1940.

Marga Minco (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈmɑrɣaː ˈmɪŋkoː]; 31 March 1920 – 10 July 2023) born Sara Menco, and for some time known as Marga Faes was a Dutch journalist and writer, and a Holocaust survivor. She married Dutch poet Bert Voeten.

Eugène Louis Constant (8 January 1901 – 22 October 1970) was a French rower who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics.In 1924 he won the silver medal as member of the French boat in the coxed four event. He also finished fourth as part of the French boat in the coxed pair competition.
