John Benjamin Hightower (December 5, 1918 – January 1, 2003) was an American football player.
Hightower was born in Beaumont, Texas, in 1918. He attended Beaumont High School and played college football at Sam Houston State from 1938 to 1941. He was also a champion hurdler for the Sam Houston track team.He was selected by the Cleveland Rams with the 92nd pick of the 1942 NFL Draft. He played as an end for the Rams, on both offense and defense, during the 1942 season. He appeared in 10 games for the Rams, two as a starter, caught 19 passes for 317 yards and scored three touchdowns.In 1943, he was a starting end for the Detroit Lions. He appeared in eight games for the Lions, seven as a starter, and caught 10 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown. His 1943 season ended early when he was had a recurrence with malaria from which he was first stricken in high school.Hightower missed the 1944 and 1946 seasons while serving in the United States Navy during World War II. He played for the Camp Peary football team in 1944 and was selected as a first-team end on the Associated Press Mid-Atlantic Service team.After the war, he coached football at Sam Houston. He also played during the 1946 season in the Pacific Coast Football League for the Los Angeles Bulldogs and Hollywood Bears.Hightower was married for 62 years. He lived in Austin, Texas, from 1960 until his death 2003 at age 84. He worked as a real estate professional working with ranch and far properties. He was inducted into the Sam Houston Bearkat Hall off Fame in 1989.

Robert Wells "Bobby" Marshall (March 12, 1880 – August 27, 1958) was an American sportsman. He was best known for playing football; however, Marshall also competed in baseball, track, boxing, ice hockey and wrestling.

Robert Raymond Wilkinson (October 8, 1927 – September 12, 2016) was an American football end who played for the New York Giants. He played college football at the University of California, Los Angeles, having previously attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles, California. He died of complications of Parkinson's disease in 2016.

Robert Eugene McChesney (October 27, 1926 – December 19, 2002) was an American football offensive end who played two seasons with the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 1950 NFL Draft. He played college football at Hardin–Simmons University and attended Van Nuys High School with Marilyn Monroe in Los Angeles, California.

Edward Anthony Rucinski (July 12, 1916 – April 22, 1995) was a professional American football player who played end for six seasons for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Chicago Cardinals and "Card-Pitt" of the National Football League. Rucinski was named to the 1939 College Football All Polish-American Team. He played college football at Indiana University where he was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity. He died in Florida on April 22, 1995. He was drafted in the six round of the 1941 NFL Draft by the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Herbert Bruce Alford Sr. (September 12, 1922 – May 8, 2010) was an American football end in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Yanks. He also played football in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) for the New York Yankees. Alford played college football at Texas Christian University (TCU). Alford was an all Southwest Conference end in 1941 and 1942 was named MVP in the 1942 Orange Bowl and received Rogers Trophy in 1942, awarded to the TCU Most Valuable Player. He served in World War II for the United States Army.After retiring from playing, he was a line judge in the NFL for 20 seasons, from 1960 to 1979, working three Super Bowls (II, VII, IX), wearing number 24. His son, Bruce Alford Jr., also played in the NFL.

Lewis C. Holder (October 10, 1923 – March 29, 2018) was an American football end who played one season with the Los Angeles Dons. He played college football at the University of Texas, having previously attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas.

Donald Roy Robbins (October 27, 1933 – September 18, 2020) was an American football coach. He was the head coach at the University of Idaho from 1970 through 1973, compiling a record of 20–24.

Stanley Neil Williams (December 5, 1929 – September 13, 2015) was an American football player. He was a first-team All-American end at Baylor University in 1951 and played for the Dallas Texans in 1952.
Williams was born in Putnam, Texas, and lived in Cisco, Texas. His father, Roy Lee Williams, was a farmer in Cisco. After attending Cisco High School, Williams enrolled at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He played college football at the end position for the Baylor Bears football team from 1949 to 1951. He caught 65 passes for 1,029 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career at Baylor. He was selected by the Football Writers Association of America as a first-team offensive player on its 1951 College Football All-America Teams.Williams was drafted by the Dallas Texans in the eighth round (86th overall pick) of the 1952 NFL Draft and played for the Texans as an end and defensive back during the 1952 NFL season. In 12 NFL games, he caught nine passes for 123 yards and intercepted five additional passes for 84 yards. He also recovered five fumbles for 42 yards and a touchdown. Williams later moved north to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. Williams played five seasons in Regina tallying 124 receptions for 2.055 yards and 11 touchdowns, as well as making 15 interceptions. He was added to Saskatchewan's Plaza of Honor in 1966.Williams was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.

Frank Melvin McPhee (March 19, 1931 - March 31, 2011) was an American football defensive back who played one season with the Chicago Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cardinals in the thirteenth round of the 1953 NFL Draft. McPhee played college football at Princeton University and attended Chaney High School in Youngstown, Ohio. He was a consensus All-American in 1952. He also served in the United States Marines.
