Toninho_Mendes

Antônio de Souza Mendes Neto (30 April 1954 – 18 January 2017), better known as Toninho Mendes, was a Brazilian editor. He started working in the 1960s, going through several publishers and alternative newspapers, such as Movimento and Versus. In 1984, Mendes founded Circo Editorial, considered the most important Brazilian publishing house of alternative comics in the 1980s and 1990s. Circo featured artists such as Laerte, Angeli and Glauco, among other important names in the Brazilian underground comics that achieved prominence in the publications published by Mendes. The story of Circo publishing house was told by Mendes himself in the book Humor Paulistano: a experiência da Circo Editorial, 1984-1985, which won the Troféu HQ Mix in 2015 in two categories: "Best Theoretical Book" and "Best Editorial Project". Mendes also won the Troféu HQ Mix in 2011 in "Best Erotic Publication" category for Quadrinhos Sacanas, a collection organized by him which published anonymous erotic comics created between the 1950s and 1980s.

He was hired in 2008 as Breitbart's inaugural managing editor and served as its first employee. Marlow is the former host of Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM.

Through his own work and the magazines he co-founded, L'Écho des savanes and Fluide Glacial, he was a key figure in the switch in French-language comics from their children's entertainment roots to an adult tone and readership. His series include Rubrique-à-Brac, Gai-Luron, and Superdupont.

He has been a radio and television presenter, specialized in rock music. He has been editor-in-chief for the magazine Métal Hurlant and was the editor-in-chief of the music monthly Rock & Folk. from 1993 to 2017. Since 2008, he was member of the jury of a reality show called Nouvelle Star on M6.

Michel_Lévy_Frères

Michel Lévy frères was a Paris publishing house founded in 1836 by Michel Lévy with his brothers Nathan and Kalmus (Calmann). Michel served as publisher until his death in 1875, upon which Kalmus succeeded him and renamed the company as Calmann-Lévy.
Michel Lévy frères published such authors as Honoré de Balzac, Gustave Flaubert, and Antoinette Henriette Clémence Robert; some of their works were illustrated by Eugène Lampsonius.
