Rosemarie Said Zahlan (Arabic: روزماري سعيد زحلان, romanized: Rawzimārī Saʿīd Zaḥlān) (August 20, 1937 – May 10, 2006) was a Palestinian-American historian and writer on the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. She was a sister of Edward Said. In addition to her books, she also wrote for the Financial Times, the Middle East Journal, the International Journal of Middle East Studies and the Encyclopedia of Islam.

1957_Mongolia_earthquake

An earthquake occurred in southern Mongolia on December 4, 1957, measuring Mw 7.8–8.1 and assigned XII (Extreme) on the Modified Mercalli intensity scale. Surface faulting was observed in the aftermath with peak vertical and horizontal scarp reaching 9 m (30 ft). Because of the extremely sparse population in the area, this event, despite its magnitude, was not catastrophic. However, 30 people died and the towns of Dzun Bogd, Bayan-leg and Baruin Bogd were completely destroyed.

Colonel Antulio Segarra Guiot (January 20, 1906 – September 14, 1999) was a United States Army officer who in 1943 became the first Puerto Rican in history to command a Regular Army Regiment. Segarra served as Military Aide to the Military Governor of Puerto Rico Theodore Roosevelt Jr. and during World War II commanded the 65th Infantry Regiment.

Felipe Enrique "Henry" Lapuz Gozon (born December 8, 1939), is a Filipino lawyer, business executive, and the current chairman and adviser of the board of GMA Network Inc., one of the largest media conglomerate in the Philippines.
A lawyer by profession, the Yale-educated Gozon is seen as the network executive who has successfully turned-around GMA from its state as one of the leading television networks in the Philippines to its current stature, at some point toppling the long-dominant ABS-CBN in 1997 and 2004 from their nationwide stronghold until today in the Mega Manila ratings. Under his watch, the network has also experienced stability in terms of revenues, mostly from advertising and other revenue sources.On December 9, 2023 during his 84th Birthday Celebration, Gozon announced his retirement as the CEO of GMA Network effective on December 31, 2023 and was approved by the Board of Directors, and announced that GMA President & COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr. will take over as the new CEO of the network starting on January 1, 2024. However, Gozon retained his Chairmanship of the Board of Directors and as the Adviser of the company.
