John Romano (November 20, 1908 - June 19, 1994) was an American physician, psychiatrist, and educator whose major interest was in medical education and the important relationship between psychiatry and medicine. He founded the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester and served as chairman from 1946 to 1971. He published over 200 scientific papers and served on several editorial boards including the Journal of Psychiatric Research.

Stanley Gordon Sturges (October 14, 1929 – July 12, 2019) was an American physician and missionary. He and his wife, Raylene Sturges, were the first Seventh-day Adventist medical missionaries to Nepal in 1957. They founded the Scheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa, which is the only Western hospital in Kavre District and serves half a million people. In 1961, the US Junior Chamber of Commerce named Sturges one of Ten Outstanding Young Americans.Sturges came from a strong tradition of medical missionary work in his family, and his goal was to minister to the needs of the sick and needy disregarding their social or economic position. It was illegal to openly speak and preach Christianity in Nepal at the time, so patients would come into contact with Sturges’ religion through the hospital.
William Larimer "Larry" Mellon Jr. (1910–1989) was an American philanthropist and physician.
Mellon was born in Pittsburgh June 26, 1910, the son of financier William Larimer Mellon Sr. and a grandnephew of U.S. Treasury Secretary Andrew W. Mellon. His family fortune derived from Gulf Oil, Westinghouse, BNY Mellon, Koppers, Alcoa and others.Mellon was married twice, the second time to dude ranch riding instructor and single mother Gwen Grant Mellon in 1946. He attended Princeton University for one year, worked for his family's company, Mellon Financial, and served in the OSS during World War II.
Mellon owned and operated a cattle ranch in Arizona until, at the age of 37, he read about, and then studied, Albert Schweitzer's medical missionary work in Gabon, and resolved, with Schweitzer's encouragement and guidance, to create a similar third-world hospital. He and Gwen Grant Mellon enrolled at Tulane University; he received his medical degree in 1954 at the age of 44, and she became qualified as a medical-laboratory technician. In 1956, the Mellons opened the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti in Deschapelles, Haiti.Mellon died in Deschapelles at the age of 79 from cancer and Parkinson's disease, on August 3, 1989.

Stephan Kurt Westmann (23 July 1893 – 7 October 1964) was a German soldier and physician.
In the First World War, Westmann served in the German 29th Infantry Division on the Western and Eastern fronts and then as an Air Force surgeon, although unqualified. He volunteered to serve in the Reichswehr after the war. After he was discharged, he completed his medical studies and became a professor at the University of Berlin, and in the 1930s migrated to England and became a doctor in Harley Street, Westminster. During the Second World War, he was a British medical officer in Scotland, so that in the two World Wars he served on different sides.
In later life, Westmann appeared on BBC television to talk about the First World War from the German point of view and also wrote his memoirs.
Trevor Charles Bosworth Stamp, 4th Baron Stamp, FRCP (18 September 1935 – 20 October 2022) was a British medical doctor and hereditary peer. He was consultant physician and director of the Department of Bone and Mineral Metabolism, Institute of Orthopaedics, at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, 1974–1999, and has been honorary consultant physician (retired) since then. He succeeded his father Trevor Stamp, 3rd Baron Stamp as Baron Stamp in 1987. The House of Lords Act 1999 removed the right of hereditary peers to sit in the House of Lords.
