Héctor Mayagoitia Domínguez (7 January 1923 – 4 October 2023) was a Mexican chemical bacteriologist and politician, who was a member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, Governor of Durango between 1974 and 1979, and Director of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) from 1979 to 1982.
Carlos Payán Velver (2 February 1929 – 17 March 2023) was a Mexican writer, journalist and politician. He was a senator from 1997 to 2000, elected by the proportional representation mechanism for the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD). He was the founder of La Jornada.In 2018, the Senate awarded him its Belisario Domínguez Medal of Honour for his "unwavering defence of free expression and human rights".

Gustavo Adolfo Madero González (16 January 1875 – 18 February 1913), born in Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico, was a participant in the Mexican Revolution against Porfirio Díaz along with other members of his wealthy family. He was also known as "Ojo Parado" ("staring eye") since he had one glass eye.Madero's brother, Francisco I. Madero, was president of Mexico from 1911 to 1913. During the coup d'état in Mexico City known as Ten Tragic Days, Gustavo Madero was arrested, released to followers of conspirator Félix Díaz. A mob tortured him, pulling out his "good" eye, and then eventually killing him.

Mauricio Magdaleno Cardona (13 May 1906 – 30 June 1986), better known as Mauricio Magdaleno, was a Mexican screenwriter and occasional director of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. He was nominated for six Ariel Awards and won for his second nomination for Río Escondido in 1949. Magdaleno was also a well-known journalist, writer, and politician.
Francisco Luis Urquizo Benavides (21 June 1891, San Pedro de las Colonias, Coahuila – 6 April 1969, Mexico City) was a Mexican soldier, writer and historian who fought in the Mexican Revolution, rose to the rank of major general, and served as Secretary of National Defense. He was also one of the most significant authors in the genre of historical fiction known as the "novela revolucionaria," a term used to describe works set during the Mexican Revolution. Tropa vieja, which is considered his major narrative work, earned him the sobriquet "novelist of the soldier."His son, Juan Manuel Urquizo Pérez de Tejada, has described Urquizo as "at once a key protagonist of and witness of the Revolution, who left an invaluable testimony in writing, rising to the category of chronicler of the act of revolution."
