Helge Holden (born 28 September 1956) is a Norwegian mathematician working in the field of differential equations and mathematical physics. He was Praeses of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters from 2014 to 2016.
He earned the dr.philos. degree at the University of Oslo in 1985. The title of his dissertation with Raphael Høegh-Krohn was Point Interactions and the Short-Range Expansion. A Solvable Model in Quantum Mechanics and Its Approximation. He was appointed professor at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (now: the Norwegian University of Science and Technology ) in 1991. His research interests are Differential equations, mathematical physics (in particular hyperbolic conservation laws and completely integrable systems), Stochastic analysis, and flow in porous media.
In 2014 he became Chairman of the board of the Abel Prize fund.He was elected Secretary General of the International Mathematical Union (IMU) for the period 2019–2022.

Arne Frode Rinnan is the former captain of the MV Tampa, which in 2001 was refused access to Australia to disembark 433 rescued refugees - in what became known as the Tampa affair. Rinnan and his crew were awarded the Nansen Refugee Award in 2002.

Rune Johan Andersson (born 5 March 1945) is a Norwegian cartoonist, illustrator and children's writer.
From 1970 to 1984 he worked as illustrator for the newspaper Dagbladet, and later for Aftenposten. Among his books are Glemmeboken from 2001, Rottenes plan og andre forunderlige fabler from 2003, and Ørkensang from 2012. He is represented at the National Gallery of Norway, Riksgalleriet and other art galleries.

Jørgen Dobloug (23 April 1945 – 16 January 2018) was a Norwegian artist based in Düsseldorf and Oslo.He studied at the Allgemeine Gewerbeschule Basel, Switzerland (1969) in the class of Armin Hofmann and Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Germany (1971 – 84), in the classes of Professor Joseph Beuys, Daniel Hees and Franz Eggenschwiler. Dobloug is an important Norwegian artist, who left Norway and what be believed to be a rigid educational system for performing arts, to find his own way. Dobloug’s works have been shown in a large number of exhibitions, in Norway and abroad.His works are mainly acrylic paintings displaying either abstract motifs or heads/faces. They are humorous, partly with contradictory elements in respect of both motif, composition and colours. The works span from strict geometric paintings including grid-patterns, to playful paintings executed with a rough, almost expressive, brush. There is furthermore conceptual side to Dobloug’s project.
His works are part of international art collections as Nasjonalmuseet, Museum Kunstpalast, Henie-Onstad Kunstsenter, Lillehammer Kunstmuseum, Svensk Konstfond, Tangen-Samlingen, Telenor Art Collection, Storebrand Art Collection, Christian Bjellands kunstsamling or the art collection of NSB.Dobloug was granted the Norwegian Government Grant for Artists from 1995.

Gry Jannicke Jarlum (born 6 April 1962 in Oslo) is a Norwegian-Swedish singer and author, best known for her 1981 album Svake mennesker which was at number one on the VG-lista for 16 weeks. She is also known for her book Du er jeg (1994), about her alleged experience with extraterrestrial life.

Kjersti Døvigen (27 June 1943 – 26 January 2021) was a Norwegian actress. She was known, among other things, for her role in the popular Norwegian TV-drama Offshore.At the age of seven, Kjersti started dancing, her career began as a ballet dancer. She worked in this area at the Norwegian Opera for eight years before her breakthrough in 1967 in Claudine's role in CanCan.Døvigen, the widow of financier Halvor Astrup, was the mother of the actress Ulrikke Hansen Døvigen and lived in Bath, England.

John Martin Jacobsen (born 27 December 1944) is a Norwegian film producer. He is the leader of the Norwegian production company Filmkameratene, and has produced more than 30 Norwegian movies.
Jacobsen has received several awards for his work. In 2003 he was awarded the Amanda Committee's Honorary Award. In 2008 he was appointed commander of the Order of St. Olav, for the work he has done for Norwegian film.Jacobsen grew up in Osterhaus gate, Oslo. His mother was a stay-at-home mom, and his dad was a ship officer. He lived right next to a cinema, where he spent a lot of time. He started earning money by delivering newspapers, but as a 15 year old he got hired by the local cinema. The man in charge of the cinema realized that Jacobsen had an extreme interest for film, and wanted him to be in charge of setting up their film program, earning 2% of the turnover.

Ingvald Godal (26 October 1934 – 28 January 2019) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party and later the Conservative Party. For the former party he was a State Secretary as well as mayor of Vinje; for the latter party he served four terms in the Norwegian Parliament. He was also involved in various organizations, most latterly the Norwegian Support Committee for Chechnya.

Tom Egeland (born 8 July 1959 in Oslo) is a Norwegian author. His great-grandfather was Jon Flatabø from Kvam in Hardanger, one of the pioneer authors of popular literature in Norway. Egeland's novels are published in Norwegian and translated into 25 languages. His most famous novel is Sirkelens ende (Circle's End), published in English with the title Relic, which deals with several of the same topics as The Da Vinci Code. Egeland's book was published in 2001, two years before The Da Vinci Code.
European readers and critics quickly noted some striking similarities between the Da Vinci Code and Circle's End. Like The Da Vinci Code, Circle's End involves an ancient mystery and a worldwide conspiracy, the discovery that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene, and an albino as one of the main characters. In both novels, the main female character is revealed to be the last living descendant of Christ and Mary Magdalene, and the daughter/granddaughter of the last grandmaster of a secret order.
Many European readers have speculated that Dan Brown had plagiarized Tom Egeland's book. Since the Norwegian novel had not yet been translated into English when The Da Vinci Code was first published, it is generally assumed now that the similarities between the two books, although striking, are coincidental.
The author himself, Tom Egeland, has been in numerous interviews in European media, and on his own website, dismissed the claim of Brown's novel plagiarizing his own novel, stating that the similarities just show that he and Brown more or less have done the same research and found the same sources.
Egeland's novel Guardians of the Covenant has been translated into 17 languages. Both Guardians of the Covenant and the 2001 bestseller Relic have been acquired by the British publishing house John Murray.
The thriller Night of the Wolf (2005) - about Chechen terrorists taking control of a live television debate show - as also been made into a feature-length movie and a television mini-series. Egeland wrote the script himself.
In 2007 Tom Egeland published two books: The Girl in the Mirror (for young adults) and Guardians of the Covenant, a thriller with the same main character as Relic: The albino archaeologist Bjørn Beltø.
Egeland's thriller The Gospel Of Lucifer was published in Norwegian in May 2009 and has been translated into 12 languages. The novel was awarded the Norwegian Riverton Prize for best crime novel 2009.According to IMDB, he was an extra in The Empire Strikes Back, portraying one of the rebel soldiers fighting in the Battle of Hoth.
During the autumn of 2016, Egeland became the topic of controversy after he was banned by Facebook for publishing the famous war photograph of "the Napalm girl" Phan Thị Kim Phúc on his personal Facebook page. Facebook eventually reconsidered its opinion concerning this picture and republished it, recognizing "the history and global importance of this image in documenting a particular moment in time".
Egeland has been president of the Norwegian Crime Writers' Association (Rivertonklubben) since 2015 and has been a board member of the Norwegian Authors' Union (Den norske Forfatterforening) since 2010. He is a book critic for the Norwegian newspaper VG (Verdens Gang).

Mari Maurstad (born 17 March 1957) is a Norwegian actress. She debuted at Nationaltheatret (the National Theatre) in 1981, and has worked there since. Here she has had roles such as Polly in Brecht's The Threepenny Opera, and Mrs. Sørby in Ibsen's The Wild Duck. She has also acted in outdoor performances of Ibsen's Peer Gynt, and in several one-woman shows. In film and television she is best known for her roles in Drømmeslottet (1986) and Pilen flyttebyrå (TV, 1987). Maurstad took part in the reality show Skal vi danse (based on "Strictly Come Dancing") in 2007.
