Severino_Cavalcanti

Severino José Cavalcanti Ferreira (18 December 1930 – 15 July 2020) was a Brazilian politician, born in João Alfredo, Pernambuco. He was a member of the Progressive Party, despite having changed parties eight times in his career. He was the mayor of João Alfredo, a member of the Pernambuco State Assembly and a federal congressman.
In 2005, he ran for the presidency of Brazilian chamber of deputies, thinking that the official candidate of the Lula government, Luiz Eduardo Greenhalgh, would win. However, because of the internal crisis of the government at the time, Cavalcanti was able to take the post.On 21 September 2005, he resigned from his position as federal deputy, and his position as President of the House was taken over provisionally by the Vice-President of the House José Thomaz Nonô.In October 2008, Cavalcanti was elected as mayor of João Alfredo.

Fernando Lyra (8 October 1938 – 14 February 2013) was a Brazilian politician who served as Minister of Justice from 1985 to 1986. Born in Recife in 1938, Lyra died in São Paulo on 14 February 2013, at the age of 74.

Luciano_Bivar

Luciano Caldas Bivar (born 29 November 1944) is a Brazilian politician and businessman. He is current a Deputy for Pernambuco as well as leader of the Brazil Union. Previously he was Social Liberal Party presidential candidate for the 2006 Brazilian general election. He received 0.06% of the total vote and did not progress to the second round. He was President of the Social Liberal Party from 2018 until it merged with the Democrats to become the Brazil Union.
Born in Recife, Bivar was the president of Sport Club do Recife from 1989 to 1990, from 1997 to 2001, from 2005 to 2006, and in 2013.

Jarbas_Vasconcelos

Jarbas Vasconcelos (born 23 August 1942) is a Brazilian politician and lawyer. He represented Pernambuco in the Federal Senate from 2007 to 2015 and for a second term from 2019 to September 2023, when he officially resigned from office and retired from politics. Previously, he was governor of Pernambuco from 1999 to 2006. He is a member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party.

Régis_de_Oliveira

Régis de Oliveira (born September 19, 1944) is a Brazilian lawyer, professor, and politician. He was mayor of São Paulo from May 26 to June 13, 2000.
A magistrate in the São Paulo state court, he was elected a federal deputy for Brazilian Social Democracy Party in 1994. In 1996 he was elected deputy-mayor of São Paulo for the Liberal Front Party, along with mayor Celso Pitta. In 2000, while a member of the National Mobilization Party, he succeeded to the mayoralty when the São Paulo state court sentenced Pitta to the loss of his office, due to corruption charges stemming from an irregular loan given to him by businessman Jorge Yunes. Appealing the court's decision, Pitta was allowed 18 days later to return to office, pending the outcome of the appeal, and Régis de Oliveira resumed his post as deputy-mayor.
He is now a chaired professor of finance law at the Universidade de São Paulo law school. In 2007, he was again elected federal deputy with a term ending in 2011, now for the Social Christian Party.
