Paulo Henrique Saraiva Câmara (born August 8, 1972, in Recife) is a Brazilian politician who served as governor of Pernambuco from 2015 to 2023. He became Governor of Pernambuco on January 1, 2015.

Fabiana Cristine da Silva (born 3 September 1978) is a Brazilian female former distance runner who competed in the 800 metres up to the half marathon. She competed six times at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships (five times as a junior) and also represented her country at the 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships and the 2011 Pan American Games.
She was the gold medallist in the 5000 m at the 2011 South American Championships in Athletics and set a championship record of 15:39.67 minutes in the process. She had won the 1500 m silver earlier in her career at the 1999 South American Championships in Athletics. She was twice a 5000 m silver medallist at the Ibero-American Championships in Athletics (2008, 2012). She was also the regional champion at the 2000 South American Cross Country Championships, winning the women's short race. She had been junior champion at that event in 1994 and 1997.Born in Recife, she set Brazilian junior records in the 1500 metres, 3000 metres and 5000 metres in the late 1990s. She competed for the BM&F Bovespa team. Silva was among the most promising South American junior athletes of her generation. She won a 1500/3000 m double at both the 1996 South American Junior Championships in Athletics and 1997 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. She won three distance running medals from 800 m to 3000 m at the 1994 South American Youth Championships in Athletics.

Ivanilton de Souza Lima (born March 9, 1950, in Recife, Brazil), known by his stage name Michael Sullivan, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, lyricist and guitarist. Brazilian composer, singer, musician, and producer Michael Sullivan is considered the most prolific and successful Brazilian songwriter of all time, with more than 2000 recorded songs by Brazilian, Hispanic and Global artists, released in 60 markets in Latin and North Americas, Europe, Asia and Middle East regions. Throughout his career, Sullivan has performed in successful groups and as a solo artist in multiple genres from ballads to gospel and has sold 60 million albums and received 60 Diamond, 270 Platinum and 550 Gold awards, inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall Of Fame at the 7th annual La Musa Awards.[1]

Millôr Fernandes (August 16, 1923 – March 27, 2012) was a Brazilian writer, journalist, cartoonist, humorist and playwright. Born Milton Viola Fernandes, his birth was registered on May 27, 1924; the handwriting on his birth certificate rendered the name "Millôr", which he adopted as his official name.He was born in Rio de Janeiro, and started his journalistic career in 1938, publishing in several Brazilian magazines, such as O Cruzeiro and A Cigarra Millor was known by his ironic humor, and was the author of thousands of satirical aphorisms.In 1956, Millôr shared with Saul Steinberg the first prize at the Buenos Aires International Caricature Exhibition, and in 1957 he had a one-man exhibition in Rio de Janeiro's Museum of Modern Art.Together with Jaguar, Ziraldo and others, he founded in 1969 the groundbreaking satirical newspaper O Pasquim.Millôr wrote a number of successful plays, and has also translated classics such as Shakespeare.He died on March 27, 2012, in Rio de Janeiro, due to complications after a stroke. He was 88 years old.

José Maria Ferreira de Castro (24 May 1898 – 29 June 1974) was a Portuguese writer and journalist. Ferreira de Castro had a long career in journalism, and considered his fiction writing to be an extension of his documentary reporting; in that regard, he is considered to be one of the fathers of contemporary Portuguese social-realist (or neorealist) fiction, a forerunner of socially-committed literature about the rural and working classes later further established by Alves Redol, and more than once a nominee for the Nobel Prize in Literature.Ferreira de Castro was part of the group of noted public intellectuals that were oppositionists to the authoritarian Estado Novo regime; despite his participation in almost every pacific action directed against the regime, his national and international recognition as an acclaimed novelist meant he was never a victim of excessively violent repression, such as prison, torture or loss of political rights.

He was proudest of his work as a publisher. The publishing house Contraponto, his creation, released works by many previously unpublished Portuguese writers (Herberto Helder, Natália Correia, Mário Cesariny de Vasconcelos, Vergílio Ferreira, António Maria Lisboa), and introduced Sade to the Portuguese readers.
