Leland McPhie (March 10, 1914 – September 3, 2015) was an American centenarian track and field athlete. He has found success in Masters athletics competitions. He also holds the currently ratified M95 American records in the long jump and triple jump. Just four days after his 100th birthday, competing in the USATF Masters Indoor Championships, McPhie was the first centenarian athlete to attempt the high jump, though he failed to clear the bar.McPhie's first experience in the sport of track and field dates to his days at Colton Union High School in Colton, California where he taught himself to pole vault with a bamboo pole. In 1935 he set the school record at San Bernardino Valley College that lasted until the inception of fiberglass vaulting poles that radically changed the event in the 1960s. He continued to San Diego State College where he set the school record in the 220 yard dash and long jump in 1936. To this day, the jump is still ranked #9 in school history, a history that includes two Olympic gold medalists in the long jump, Willie Steele and Arnie Robinson.McPhie joined the Army to fight in World War II, returning to San Diego State to complete his degree. From 1940 to 1969 he worked for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, by 1954 becoming the youngest to attain the rank of captain. During the Vietnam War, he worked for the State Department and picked up the game of tennis. Still decades later he joined a tennis competition at the local Senior Olympics and noticed a track meet going on associated with the event. Since joining in that day, he has won over 200 gold medals and has set numerous American and world records.Widowed in 2000, he survived open heart surgery in 2004 and a couple of forms of cancer. From his recollection, he has three living children, five or six grandchildren and "about 30″ great-grandchildren. He died from a rare form of E. coli bacterial infection.

Ørnulf Tofte (12 February 1922 – 26 August 2020) was a Norwegian police officer and a major figure in the Norwegian intelligence service during the Cold War. He served as assistant chief of police and head of counter-intelligence in the Police Surveillance Agency. Tofte uncovered several illegal Soviet spies and personally arrested Asbjørn Sunde, Gunvor Galtung Haavik and Arne Treholt. Tofte was widely recognized for his role during the Cold War, and received the King's Medal of Merit in Gold in 1987. He published the biography Spaneren in the same year.

Lars L'Abée-Lund (22 April 1910 – 17 May 1991) was a Norwegian police officer and judge. He was born in Aker. From 1945 to 1950 L'Abée-Lund was in charge of the department responsible for the Legal purge in Norway after World War II. He served as judge at Eidsivating Court of Appeal from 1968 to 1980. He was decorated Commander of the Swedish Order of Vasa, and Knight, First Class of the Danish Order of the Dannebrog.

Bernard Squarcini is a French intelligence official and security consultant. He was born on 12 December 1955 in Rabat, Morocco. He was the youngest Inspector General of Police.
Bernard Squarcini was head of the French Direction Centrale du Renseignement Intérieur (English: General Directorate for Internal Security) from 2 July 2008 to 30 May 2012. He was in charge of counterterrorism intelligence in Corsica, Basque Country and against Islamic extremism. In 2012 he created his company Kyrnos Conseil where he acts as an independent consultant.

Georges Nguyen Van Loc (2 April 1933 – 7 December 2008) was a French policeman, actor, and author.
Van Loc worked as a policeman, police inspector and commissioner in his native Marseille for many years. He later wrote an autobiography about his career as a police officer and played himself in a television series based on his life. He created the first GIPN. He was nicknamed "le Chinois" ("the Chinese") despite his Vietnamese descent.

Yves Bertrand (25 January 1944 – 3 June 2013) was a French intelligence officer and the General Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (RG) of the French police from 1992 to 2004. His diaries led to a political scandal in the run-up to the French presidential election in 2007. On 3 June 2013 he was found dead in his flat in Paris, France. He was 69 years old. The cause of death is as yet unknown.

Lucien Aimé-Blanc (23 March 1935 – 19 February 2020) was a French police officer. Born in Marseille, he became vice chief of staff of the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) and also of the Narcotics brigade. He led the Office central de répression du banditisme (OCRB).
Lucien Aimé-Blanc revealed in L'Indic et le Commissaire (2006) that left-wing activist Pierre Goldman had been assassinated on 20 September 1979 by a commando of the GAL, a Spanish assassination squad, led by Jean-Pierre Maïone. According to Aimé-Blanc, Henri Curiel, a anti-colonialist opposed to French Algeria may also have been the victim of the same Jean-Pierre Maïone, who was his informant for years.

Maurice Grimaud (11 November 1913 – 16 July 2009) was the French Prefect of Police, or police chief, of the city of Paris during the May 1968 general strikes and student uprisings. He is credited with avoiding an escalation of violence and bloodshed during the May 1968 unrest.Grimaud was born in Annonay, Ardèche, on 11 November 1913. He originally studied literature.
Grimaud began his career in civil service with the French colonial administration of Morocco in Rabat. He later worked in both Algeria and Germany. Grimaud also worked as a local governor and aide to then-French Interior Minister François Mitterrand.
