Dewey Follett Bartlett Sr. (March 28, 1919 – March 1, 1979) was an American politician who served as the 19th governor of Oklahoma from 1967 to 1971, following his fellow Republican, Henry Bellmon. In 1966, he became the first Roman Catholic elected governor of Oklahoma, defeating the Democratic nominee, Preston J. Moore of Oklahoma City. He was defeated for reelection in 1970 by Tulsa attorney David Hall in the closest election in state history. He was elected to the United States Senate in 1972 and served one term. In 1978, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and did not run for reelection that year. He died of complications of lung cancer two months after retiring from the Senate in 1979.

Robert Bruce Mathias (November 17, 1930 – September 2, 2006) was an American decathlete, politician, and actor. Representing the United States, he won two Olympic gold medals in the Decathlon, at the 1948 and the 1952 Summer Games. As a Republican, he served in the US House of Representatives for California's 18th congressional district, for four terms from 1967 to 1975.

Jim Shockley was a Republican member of the Montana Legislature. He was elected for Senate District 45, representing the Victor, Montana area, in 2004. Previously he served in the House of Representatives. He was an officer in the US Marine Corps.In June 2010 Shockley announced his intention to run for Montana Attorney General in the 2012 election. He did not advance past the primaries. He was ineligible to run for re-election for Senate due to Montana's term limits.

Colin Riley McMillan (July 27, 1935 – July 24, 2003) was a United States Assistant Secretary of Defense under President George H. W. Bush during the Gulf War. He was awaiting confirmation as United States Secretary of the Navy in 2003 when he died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head at his New Mexico ranch.McMillan was the chairman and CEO of Permian Exploration Corporation, an oil exploration company, the chairman of the First Federal Savings Bank in Roswell, New Mexico, and the founder and CEO of McMillan Production Company. He was appointed in 2001 to be the chairman of the Sallie Mae Corporation by President George W. Bush.
McMillan earned his bachelor's degree in geology from the University of North Carolina in 1957. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960 and in the Marine Corps Reserve from 1960 to 1972, attaining the rank of major.McMillan served in the New Mexico House of Representatives from 1971 to 1982. He ran for the United States Senate seat in New Mexico in 1994 but lost to incumbent Democrat Jeff Bingaman by a 54% to 46% margin. In 2000, McMillan was the New Mexico state chairman of George W. Bush's presidential campaign.
McMillan was survived by his wife, Kay, four children, and eight grandchildren.

Harry Pregerson (October 13, 1923 – November 25, 2017) was a United States circuit judge appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit by President Jimmy Carter in 1979. Pregerson was regarded as one of the judiciary's most liberal judges, attracting both praise and criticism for his insistence on placing his conscience above court precedent.

David Vreeland Kenyon (September 10, 1930 – March 31, 2015) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Henry Allen Holmes (born January 31, 1933) was the United States Ambassador to Portugal from 1982 to 1985 and a career diplomat.

Charles Sheldon Whitehouse (November 5, 1921 – June 25, 2001) was an American career diplomat. He was United States Ambassador to Laos and the United States Ambassador to Thailand.

John Hampton (May 24, 1907 – July 4, 2010) was an American retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel and former journalist. Hampton is credited with co-founding Toys for Tots with Major William L. Hendricks and other U.S. Marines during the late 1940s.Hampton was born on May 24, 1907. Hampton received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Baylor University. He worked as a journalist for several wire services and newspapers in Texas, Louisiana and Kansas following his graduation. Hampton enlisted in the United States Marines during World War II and was sent to the Pacific theater. He coded and decoded encrypted messages during the war.Hampton was stationed at a Marine Reserve training center in Los Angeles following the end of World War II, where he worked as a public information officer. He would meet Major William L. Hendricks at the Los Angeles center, who would co-found Toys for Tots. Hendricks, who was public relations officer for Warner Bros. by profession, created a campaign to place collection bins for toys outside of Warner Bros movie theaters, which evolved into Toys for Tots. Hendricks partnered with Hampton to lead the toy collections in the area. Hampton also used his journalism experience to promote the campaign.Hampton later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he practiced public relations in Oakland. His wife was journalist Nora Hampton, who worked for the Oakland Tribune. The couple resided in Orinda, California, until his wife's death on November 24, 1994.Hampton began showing symptoms of dementia in 2000. He died on July 4, 2010, at the Deer Hill Care Home in Lafayette, California, at the age of 103. His son, Mikey Hampton, died in 2006, leaving no close relatives.

Fontaine Maury Maverick Jr. (January 3, 1921 – January 28, 2003) was an American lawyer, politician, activist, and columnist from the U.S. state of Texas. A member of the prominent Maverick family, he was the great-grandson of Samuel Maverick, the rancher who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence and famously refused to brand his cattle, and the son of Maury Maverick Sr., a two-term member of the United States House of Representatives.
